Johnny Rockets Throws Out Breast Feeding Mom

Johnny Rockets, a hamburger chain restaurant, has caused an uproar among mothers there after a Lexington, Kentucky franchise threw out Corday Piston, a mother, who asked the manager if it was ok if she breast fed her baby in one of the diner’s booths.

Piston was told “no” and that she needed to breast feed her 6-month old daughter outside.

Piston said it was too hot that day to sit on the bench and she explained to the manager that according to state law, she had the right to breast-feed wherever she had a right to be.

She said the manager informed her she could breast-feed in the bathroom. Piston said she thought that option was disgusting.

At that point, Piston said the manager said asked her to leave because Piston was making people uncomfortable.

Piston told News 5 that she went back later with a copy of the statute but was rebuffed.

The woman was rightfully pissed and returned along with several dozens of her friends and supporters to protest against the restaurant’s ill advised decision the next day.

Johnny Rockets has not released a public statement yet regarding the incident.  The company should apologize, offer the mom a complete year of free greasy hamburgers and stale fries, and try to bury this issue before it gains even more steam nationwide.

There is a Kentucky law on the books that protects mother’s rights to breast feed in public.
