Sheryl Crow Is Back With ’100 Miles From Memphis’
Sheryl Crow released her latest album, 100 Miles From Memphis, today. The first single off of the album is ‘Summer Day’ which is an upbeat, feel-good song for the sunny days.
Other surefire hits from the album are ‘Sideways’, ‘Sign Your Name’, ‘Long Road Home’, and her bonus song tribute to Michael Jackson ‘I Want You Back.’ Crow was once a backup singer for the ‘King of Pop.’
The title of her latest album is a tribute to her hometown of Kennett, Missouri, which is 100 miles northwest of Memphis, Tennessee.
“I grew up in a small town 100 miles from Memphis, and that informed not only my musical taste, but how I look at life,” she says. “The drive to Memphis is all farmland, and everyone is community-oriented, God-fearing people, connected to the earth. The music that came out of that part of the world is a part of who I am, and it’s the biggest inspiration for what I do and why I do it.”
The much anticipated album features guest appearances from Keith Richards, Citizen Cope, and the talented Justin Timberlake.
